Floride Mukeshimana’s journey as a Growth Guide is deeply rooted in her own transformation as an entrepreneur. Before receiving business training, she operated without clarity, unsure whether she was making a profit or a loss. After gaining practical knowledge, she was able to grow her business from one level to another, which not only improved her livelihood but also changed how she viewed entrepreneurship. This personal progress became her motivation to support other MSMEs, helping them move beyond uncertainty and build stronger, more structured businesses.
Since taking on this role, Floride has reached around 200 youth-led MSMEs, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, and tourism. Her work focuses on shifting mindsets and strengthening how entrepreneurs approach their businesses. She encourages them to set clear goals, think strategically, and take bold steps toward growth. By introducing tools like SWOT analysis and promoting innovation, she helps them better understand their businesses and identify opportunities for improvement. She also emphasizes the importance of engaging with financial institutions, guiding them to see access to finance as a pathway to expansion rather than something to fear.
Her impact is reflected in the progress of those she supports. Several MSMEs she has trained have successfully accessed loans, which she describes as one of the most rewarding outcomes of her work. Seeing entrepreneurs move from learning to action, and from action to growth, has strengthened her confidence and commitment to continue supporting more young people on their journey.
Through this role, Floride has also learned the value of leading by example. She believes that credibility comes from practice — that entrepreneurs are more likely to trust and follow guidance when they see real results. This has pushed her to work even harder in her own business, ensuring that her growth becomes a reference point for others.
Her vision is to see young people become confident, goal-driven, and proactive in building their futures. She encourages them to take initiative, work with purpose, and make use of available opportunities, especially those linked to financial services.
Her message is especially directed to young women and girls, reminding them that they are capable of achieving growth and success. She encourages them to believe in themselves, take action, and not hold back, emphasizing that progress begins with courage and is sustained through consistent effort.
