Our commitment to responsible, permission-based marketing

1. Our commitment

African Management Institute (AMI) only sends marketing to people who have chosen to hear from us. This policy applies to AMI employees, contractors, partners, agencies and service providers communicating on AMI’s behalf. It covers all AMI domains, websites and platforms used for email, SMS, WhatsApp and other electronic marketing.

2. No unsolicited marketing

AMI does not send unsolicited marketing messages to promote africanmanagers.com, other AMI websites, programmes, events or services, whether sent individually or in bulk. No one acting on AMI’s behalf may send such messages or arrange for another party to send them.

3. Consent

We only send marketing to people who have opted in to receive it. Consent must be freely given, specific and recorded, including when and how it was obtained.

[Optional, Existing clients and programme participants may receive information about similar AMI programmes, with the option to opt out when their details are collected and in every message.]

Publicly available contact details or an event registration do not by themselves count as consent to marketing. AMI does not use purchased, rented, scraped or lead-enrichment lists for marketing, and contacts from such sources are never added to campaigns or automated sequences without consent.

4. Message standards

Every AMI marketing message will:

  • Clearly identify AMI and the sender.

  • Use accurate sender details and subject lines.

  • Be relevant to what the recipient signed up for.

  • Include a simple way to unsubscribe or opt out.

  • Never use misleading claims, hidden identities or domains designed to avoid spam filters.

5. Unsubscribing

You can opt out at any time, free of charge and without logging in. Use the unsubscribe link in any email or reply STOP to SMS and WhatsApp messages. Automated unsubscribes take effect immediately, and requests made by other means are actioned within two working days. Once you opt out, you will not be added back without your renewed consent.

6. Service and programme messages

If you are enrolled in an AMI programme or use our services, we may send you necessary administrative, contractual or programme messages. These are not used to disguise marketing.

7. Partners and service providers

Anyone sending messages on AMI’s behalf must follow this policy and provide evidence of compliance on request. AMI will suspend sending where consent, list quality or sending practices cannot be verified.

8. Reporting spam or impersonation

If you receive a message you believe is unsolicited AMI marketing, or one that falsely claims to come from AMI, contact operations@africanmanagers.com with a copy of the message, the sender and the date received. We will investigate, stop any inappropriate sending and take corrective action.

9. Privacy

For details on how AMI collects and uses personal data, see our [Privacy Policy link].

10. Review

This policy is reviewed annually and whenever there are significant changes to our marketing practices or legal requirements.
